This was my first time trying Russian-Georgian food and it was simply amazing! There was a bit of a wait as they only take reservations if you have a party of 6 or more, but it didn't take long at all, especially on a Friday night. The atmosphere was very homey, and the staff were very friendly! We decided to order a bunch of dishes and just split each one so we could try a bit of everything! The salad sampler was a nice break from the hearty food we were about to indulge in! We ordered the famous Adjaruli which is their cheese-filled bread boat with egg. The server came to our table and mixed it himself, and it was incredible!! What's not more to love than cheese and bread? We also ordered the Russian Pierogies which came with sour cream and onions. Those were incredibly delicious and the sour cream and onions really added to the taste! The special that our server recommended was the soup dumplings with pork inside, and those were also incredible, as the meat tasted super fresh and the soup inside was delicious. Last but not least, we had to get the beef stroganoff. We decided to get it with pasta, and it was incredible. The sautéed pieces of beef had a sour cream sauce that was delicious and juicy. Overall, we had a fantastic and unique experience and I will definitely be eating Russian-Georgian food again!
Talk about love at first bite! This place is a true treasure. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and amazing. My girlfriends and I arrived, and yes, it was busy--but rightfully so. This restaurant deserves an award (if it hasn't already received one). The setting is intimate and unlike anything I've experienced before, which makes it even more special. We ordered the cheese bread, the salad sampler, beef stroganoff, and borscht. Everything was incredible, including the bread basket. Can we please have a Pomegranate in North County San Diego?
Food: - cabbage rolls: 9/10 something so simple but yet so good, and interesting! everyone in my group rated this the best. definitely recommend -chicken skewer dish: 7.5/10 good dish, I liked the side salad :) -beef stroganoff: 7/10 I thought it was an average dish, very homey, my group thought it was amazing tho. -lamb stew: 5/10 tbh it was okay, just did not fit my palette ! my group thought it was good. has a long finish, a little sour/tart lingering finish. lamb fell off the bone! Drinks: -pomegranate martini: 9/10 first time trying a martini and i was scared it was gonna be strong but it was surprisingly sweet! I loved the pomegranate flavor :) -pomegranate margarita: 8/10 big portion, good drink Service: was okay, could have been better. 35 minutes for entree. had to wait at least 10 minutes for check. Ambiance: if you want a quiet intimate romantic place this place is not it! its busy, loud. dim lighting fyi. I like the exterior and interior :) overall experience I would come back and recommend!
Just wow! My first time here and I can't wait to go back. Place smells so good and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. I came for dinner with my girlfriends and we shared everything which was perfect for us. Everything tasted amazing! I love beef stroganoff and this place had the best that I've ever had! The flavor is so rich and I couldn't get enough. I highly recommend this spot.
This place seems to be so underrated and is such a great spot! What a unique cuisine in San Diego-- they should have more of these restaurants! We ordered the pierogies and they were so delicious! We also ordered the Adjaruli which is the filled bread boat with egg and cheese. The server brought it over and stirred the egg and cheese together. It was so tasty and a wonderful presentation. We ordered the pear soda as well and it was refreshing. The ambiance inside is darker and they have a large space with plenty of seating. The service was great as well. I recommend! Parking can be hard in North Park.
